On a wet evening, having three taxi apps is less useful than knowing which vehicle you need and where it can meet you. Kakao T, Uber Taxi and TADA all arrange rides, but their products and fare displays are not interchangeable. This is a Seoul-focused guide based on official service information, not a simultaneous test of dispatch speed or promotional prices.
Kakao T: identify the product first
Kakao T distinguishes ordinary calls from products including Blue, Venti and Black. Its official introduction also describes reservations for Venti and Black. Treating every one of these as the price of a single Kakao taxi makes a poor comparison. A solo journey across town and an airport trip with luggage may call for different products. Even if the app is familiar, read the name of the option selected for this ride.
We would use it as a starting point for examining vehicle choices, rather than declare that it always dispatches fastest. Nearby supply and demand affect calls. Repeated cancellation does not establish a reliable way to shorten a wait. An estimated arrival time should not become a guaranteed appointment in your plans. When a flight, meeting or medical visit matters, leave a margin that belongs to the journey rather than to an optimistic number on the phone.
Uber Taxi: separate the estimate from the discount
Uber's taxi fare guidance distinguishes the displayed estimate from the eventual metered fare. Traffic and the actual route can change the final charge. A number appearing before booking does not by itself mean a fixed price. Enter both endpoints accurately and read the fare explanation for the selected service. If you change product, match the comparison again instead of carrying over assumptions from another option.
A promotion belongs to your account and that booking. A first-ride condition, payment requirement, expiry or maximum saving can make somebody else's screenshot irrelevant to you. Do not turn a discount percentage into a permanent fare schedule. Count it only after the final booking screen shows that it applies, and do not assume the same offer will remain next week. The useful question is the cost you can reasonably expect for this journey under the conditions displayed now.
TADA: give space a proper comparison
TADA's official NEXT introduction highlights cabin and luggage space, intermediate stops and reservations. Those are good reasons to investigate it for a group or a luggage-heavy journey. Compare it with a comparable larger-vehicle product where available, rather than contrasting its quote only with an ordinary taxi. Otherwise a difference in vehicle type looks like a difference between apps providing precisely the same service.
Do not infer guaranteed luggage capacity, passenger numbers or availability from a broad description of spaciousness. Check the operating area, reservation time and vehicle conditions for your party. Write down the actual number of passengers and the size of the bags when space is the reason for choosing it. A company's comfort claim can explain what it sells; it cannot replace a three-way ride test. This guide has no invented comfort score or measured waiting-time winner.
The pickup pin can decide the experience
Use the same departure point across apps. A pin at the other side of a station, or behind a large building, can change an estimate before the vehicle itself enters the comparison. Check that the car can stop appropriately and that everyone in the party can reach the meeting point. A few minutes' apparent advantage is unhelpful if the proposed pickup is on the wrong side of the road.
Check the destination branch or entrance too. Hotels, hospitals and restaurants can share names across neighborhoods. At an airport, identify the terminal, and allow time to load luggage. After dispatch, confirm the vehicle and follow the pickup instructions. Do not step into traffic simply because the countdown is short. Meeting at a workable location is a more concrete improvement than choosing an app based on an unverified claim that its matching system is universally faster.
Make a small comparison immediately before booking
Record the same route and time, vehicle class, displayed estimate, applicable promotion and extra-charge conditions. Check whether tolls or reservation-related charges are included, then read cancellation terms. A reservation can help organize a trip without having identical pricing to an immediate call. This approach selects today's product; it is not evidence for a permanent cheapest-app ranking. The comparison table below therefore records decisions to check rather than fictional live quotes.
Avoid confirming three rides and canceling two after the cars are assigned. Narrow the candidates at the quote stage, then request the one you intend to take. When the schedule is tight, a missed commitment can matter more than a small discount. With time to spare, you can compare equivalent classes more carefully. Keeping payment setup ready in a second app is also practical: it reduces the work of creating an account when you actually need transport.

Where we would start
For an everyday trip, we would compare the same class in Kakao T and Uber Taxi. With several people and bags, add TADA and equivalent larger products from the others. Let the actual vehicle and checkout conditions decide, rather than appointing one app permanently cheapest. Once the comparison is done, call the single ride you plan to take.
